What a rush at Club Rush! This year during homecoming week, Linden High School held their 2nd Annual Club Rush organized by English teacher Wendy Hunter. The purpose of club rush is to expose students to the different clubs that are available on campus. The clubs present at Club Rush included the Random Acts of Kindness Club, the Christian Club, Gay-Straight Alliance, Journalism, FFA, the Soccer Club, FCCLA, and CSF.

The Random Acts of Kindness club is a club devoted to spreading kindness across campus. For Club Rush, R.A.K. shared jokes with students and staff members to brighten their day. The club President is Irene Duran and the Vice President is Paige Hartung.  Hunter serves as the club’s adviser. R.A.K. regularly meets in room 40 for those who wish to learn more about the club.

Christian Club member senior Andres Ulloa recruits members to join the new club.

The Christian Club is new to our campus. This club is devoted to help students find their path to Christ. They meet every Monday.

The Gay Straight Alliance sharing their club’s message with interested students.

The Gay Straight Alliance is dedicated to protect students on campus who feel disrespected because of their sexuality. Despite being a relatively new club, the amount of support they receive is incredible.  Members meet regularly in Mr. Esteves’ room.

The LHS journalism club, which publishes this online student school newspaper, the Lion’s Roar,  promoted their website to the underclassmen who might not be familiar with our work. If you are interested in joining this group, see advisor and junior English teacher Kim Merenda in Rm 37 for more details.

FFA, our largest student organization on campus, held a raffle to encourage their members to be an active part of their program.

The Soccer Club made a comeback on campus as they entered Club Rush. Despite last year’s end to the club, it’s members decided to bring it back for soccer enthusiasts to enjoy.

FCCLA was cooking up s’mores! When a student went to pay adviser Laura Nealy a visit, they definitely had a sweet treat.

CSF introduced their new adviser, Mrs. Wendy Hunter, during Club Rush. CSF was thrilled to see all the new faces interested in joining them this school year.

Although Club Rush has come to an end, if you are interested in joining or learning a little more about any of these clubs, it’s never to late to be involved!
